NAUGATUCK- Mrs. Laverne (Reich) Eigenbrot, 86, of Naugatuck, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday Oct. 28, 2010. She was the widow of Edwin C. Eigenbrot, Sr., who passed away in 1998, after 53 years of marriage.
Mrs. Eigenbrot was born in Baltimore, MD, May 5, 1924, a daughter of the late John M. and Anna (Denstbier) Reich and was a was a Naugatuck resident for many years. She retired in 1984 from the Naugatuck School system, where she had served as a Secretary at the Prospect St. School for over 22 years. She was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church and a former volunteer for over 45 years with the Naugatuck Chapter of the America Red Cross. She was also a member of the Naugatuck Garden Club, the Naugatuck Historical Society and a member of Goodwill Chapter # 112, Order of the Eastern Star.
She leaves one son, Edwin C. Eigenbrot, Jr. and his wife Carol of Mantua, NJ; one daughter, Christine Lubinski and her husband Dale of Midland, TX; 7 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held on Monday Nov. 1, 2010 at 10 am. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, Cross St., Naugatuck. There are no calling hours.
