OAKVILLE- Mr. Lance Allen Burleigh, 49, of Oakville, passed away at the Waterbury Hospital Friday
April 26, 2013, after a brief illness.
Lance was born in Newport, R.I., Sept. 30, 1963, a son of Ann (Angel) Burleigh-Willey of Texas and the late Gerald Burleigh, II and had been a Thomaston resident prior to moving to Oakville. He was a graduate of Thomaston High School and Emmett O'Brien Regional Tech. School. He was a Toolmaker working for various manufacturing companies. He was a member of the Waterbury Deep Sea Fishing Club, Inc. and passed down his passion for gardening and his love and knowledge of the outdoors with his children.
He leaves his Fianc, Kristi Peil of Oakville, a loving father to his children, Nicara Burleigh of New Haven, Justin Burleigh of Waterbury, Brandon Burleigh of Wolcott, and Bryn Burleigh of Oakville; a brother Gerald Burleigh, III of Texas; 2 sisters, Cindy Casella of Thomaston and Bonnie Burleigh
of Texas and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father and a brother, Mark Burleigh.
A memorial service will be held on Friday May 10, 2013 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Thomas Church, Electric Ave., Thomaston. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is assisting with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bryn Burleigh Education Fund c/o the Alderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 146, Naugatuck, CT 06770-0146. A Celebration of his life will be held on Friday evening at 6 pm at the Polish American Club, 198 Bridge St., Naugatuck.
