1968 - 2022

Waterbury, CT Lena DiCaprio Kupka, 53, loving wife of Milan Kupka, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2022 at Waterbury Hospital.

Lena was born November 5, 1968 in Waterbury, CT daughter of Alessandro and Rita (Orciso) DiCaprio. Lena was a lifelong Waterbury resident. She graduated from Wilby High School and worked as a hair stylist at Casey’s Classic Cuts in Prospect. Lena loved spending time with her family and friends, going to the shoreline, traveling and being with her dog Sadie.

In addition to her husband and her parents. Lena is survived by her brother Frank DiCaprio, her mother in law Beatrice Irra and her husband Milos Irra, her sisters in law Ilona Kupka and Monica Irra and many aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11:00am at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 12 Ardsley Road, Waterbury. Calling hours are Sunday from 2-4pm at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers and to honor Lena’s memory, donations are requested to the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center, 1075 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT 06708.
