Joseph Krayeski

Naugatuck, CT Joseph William Krayeski, 80, husband of Beverly (Kirk) Krayeski, died peacefully at his home on February 26, 2024 with his loving wife and daughters by his side.

Joe was born November 9, 1943 in Waterbury, CT son of the late Joseph V. and Emma “Rita” (DeLucia) Krayeski. Joe was raised in Naugatuck, attended local schools, graduated from Naugatuck High School, Class of 1961 and earned his bachelor’s degree from St. Michael’s College in Winooski, VT. Before retiring in 2010, Joe worked for most of his career in New York City and Connecticut as a commodities trader in the copper industry and had the opportunity to travel the world in that capacity. He enjoyed fine dining and watching UCONN basketball and will best be remembered for his incredible work ethic and devotion to his family.

In addition to Beverly, his adoring wife of 59 years, Joe is survived by his daughters, Debra (Erik) Olesen and Susan Culotta; his grandchildren, Ryan Olesen, Jillian Olesen, Ethan Culotta and Eli Culotta; his sister, Janet (Fred) Elia; his sister in law, Joyce (Dom) Alegi; his brothers in law, Donald (Dariel) Kirk and Ross (Luiz) Kirk and many nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his son in law, Mark Culotta.

Joe’s family wishes to thank the nurses and caregivers from Hartford HealthCare Hospice and the Naugatuck EMS for their compassion and support.

Family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate Joe’s life on Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers and to honor Joe’s memory, donations are requested to Naugatuck Emergency Medical Services, 246 Rubber Avenue, Naugatuck, CT 06770.
