NAUGATUCK – Kevin M. DelGobbo, 53, passed away July 3, 2017 at his home.

Kevin was born April 15, 1964 in Oradell, NJ, the son of the late Nancy (Avallone) Stiber and Joseph DelGobbo and had been a Naugatuck resident since 1976, moving here from Waterbury. Kevin attended local schools and graduated from Naugatuck High School, Class of 1982. He furthered his education at UCONN graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science in 1986.

A young man full of enthusiasm, his passion was to give back to others. Kevin achieved this goal with his kind heart, warm smile and wisdom. At the time of his death, Kevin was the Director of Revenue Requirements for Eversource Energy. The career that he was the most humbled by was serving the citizens of Naugatuck as the State Representative for the 70th district for 12 years, 10 of those years as a ranking member of the energy committee. He did everything in his power to make Naugatuck a great place to work, live and raise a family. Kevin was the past Chairman of the Department of Public Utility Control, an agency now known as DEEP, Senior Advisor to the Mayor of the City of Waterbury, CEO for the Waterbury Development Corporation, Executive Director for the Connecticut Republican Party, Administrative Aide to the Mayor of Naugatuck and the Vice President of Governmental Affairs for the Waterbury Chamber of Commerce. At each of these jobs Kevin was intensely focused on other people and how he could improve their lives. In addition, Kevin served his community by volunteering on the boards of several local organizations: The Naugatuck YMCA, The United Way of Naugatuck, Beacon Falls and the Greater Waterbury areas, The Waterbury Symphony, Naugatuck Ambulance and the Naugatuck Day Care. Kevin was also a member of the Saint Mary’s Foundation, Waterbury Housing Fund, The Connecticut Community Care Inc., Naugatuck Board of Finance, The Naugatuck Economic Development Corporation and Naugatuck Youth Services. He most enjoyed his role as Justice of the Peace where he was given many opportunities to unite couples in the union of marriage. Kevin’s Community and Civic roles earned him various awards and acknowledgements including but not limited to: The Legislator of the Year Award, The Van Allen Medal for Extraordinary Community Service, The Mary Connolly Community Caring Award, The Franklin Johnson Sr. Outstanding Citizenship Award, Lewis A. Dibble Sr. Award, the Frederick D. Zonino Volunteer Award and the Naugatuck Exchange Clubs Citizen of the Year Award.

Kevin was a family man in every sense of the word. He loved his family deeply and showed them with his singing birthday messages, sending crazy text messages written in Italian, Polish or Russian, and his love of finding family history. Kevin is survived by his father, W. Barry Stiber of Naugatuck, who raised him from a young age; his sister Christina Dwire and her husband Greg of Vernon; their children Maggie and JT, who were the loves of his life; his sister Cyndi Stiber and her husband Rob Pollock of FL; his uncle Wendle Stiber of Beacon Falls; his girlfriend Sandy Lee of Naugatuck and many countless friends who he loved dearly. Besides his parents, Kevin is predeceased by his brother Jeffrey M. DelGobbo.

Kevin you will be missed more than you will ever know; the legacy you have left in Naugatuck will never be forgotten.

“The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky; Are also on the faces of people going by; I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do; But they’re really saying, I Love You.”
