Waterbury — Kenya Shondell Spencer was born on January 29, 1974, in Union NJ to William H. Spencer Jr. of Wilson, North Carolina and Patricia Cam-Beaver (Alvin) Bloomfield, CT, who will miss her dearly. She departed her life at age 45 on December 14, 2019.
Kenya served her community through a career in healthcare, many of those years with Southbury Training School. She loved cooking, music, dancing and enjoyed watching movies. She was kind-hearted and always there for a good laugh or to give a shoulder to lean on.
Kenya leaves to cherish her memories: her sons Kazson Spencer and Marcus Ward (Chascity); her sons in love Auguster III, Najee, Julian Sr. and Jamie Ward and God-daughter Deidre Ward; grandson Marcus Ward Jr. who she lovingly called G-Baby; her sisters Keisha Figueiredo (Craig) and Aza Mosley (Sean) of Waterbury and her brother Jeruan Spencer of Newark, NJ; nephews Michael Cam of Waterbury, Daniel and Ryan Figueiredo of West Virginia; nieces Iyana and Dana Figueiredo of Queens, NY and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Arrangements – A Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 23, 2019, at 6 pm at the Alderson-Ford Funeral home of Waterbury, 496 Chase Ave. with family visitation beginning at 5 pm. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
