WATERBURY - Dr. Kenneth J. Eagan, 87, of Waterbury and a former longtime resident of Cheshire, passed away Thursday morning October 3, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. He was the husband of the late Rosemary A. Eagan who passed away in 2012.
Dr. Eagan was born May 14, 1926 in New Haven, the son of the late James and Margaret (Feeley) Eagan. Dr Eagan attended Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island, and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry. He was a Dentist practicing in Cheshire for nearly 60 years. He was an avid planter and nut tree grower as well as a New York Yankees fan. He was a communicant of the Church of Epiphany.
Dr. Eagan is survived by his three sons, Michael K. Eagan of Bristol, Matthew J. Eagan of East Hampton, and Peter J. Eagan and daughter-in-law Laurie of Harwinton; his two daughters, Eileen Maynard and her husband Stephen of Cheshire, and Sheila J. Eagan and her fianc Joseph Rosa of Waterbury; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by his sister Frances Rose Eagan.
Dr. Eagan's funeral will be held on Monday October 7, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of the Epiphany, 1750 Huckins Rd. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Calling hours and burial will be private in St. Bridget Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, 33 Oak St., Watertown, CT 06795. The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire 615 S. Main St. is assisting with arrangements.
