Kenneth Parilton Barker

Kenneth Parilton Barker, 80, of Cheshire, beloved husband of 58 years to Delores Barker, passed away on October 11, 2022. Kenneth was born on October 24, 1941 in Konawa, OK to the late Isaac and Rosa Barker.

Ken was employed with Fuji Medical Systems, USA for 34 years. He was a devoted supporter of his wife and daughter’s love of horses. He was an accomplished “railbird” with a keen eye, quick pin to the winner, and always cheering loudest for his wife and daughter. He was an avid classic car enthusiast who was also a collector of anything and everything. Ken was always ready with a corny pun and enjoyed writing his own jokes and poems to share with family and friends. In quiet times, he was always found with a book in hand and shared his love of reading with his family.

In addition to his wife, Delores, Ken leaves his daughter, Julie Barker, his son, Kenneth Barker, and his 4 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Dennis Barker and many nieces and nephews. Ken was predeceased by his stepmother, Erlene Barker and his sister, Carol Rhodes and her husband, Joe.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 615 South Main Street, Cheshire, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dr. James D. Trifone Scholarship.
