Keith Clayton

Keith E. Clayton, 60, of 1485 Highland Ave, formerly of Arlington, VT passed away May 26, 2009 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was the husband of Lynn (Baker) Clayton whom he was married to for 40 years.

Keith was born September 18, 1948 in Bennington, VT son of Kenneth Sr. and Jeannette (Woodard) Clayton. He graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelors Degree in education. In 1973 after Keith obeyed the Gospel he started teaching the lost to become saved. He worked diligently day after day contacting people who would be interested in studying. Keith started preaching full time in 1978 in Milton, VT; from there he started a new work in Bristol, VT then the church moved to Middlebury, VT. In 1994 Keith moved to Waterville, ME to work with church there then from there to Connecticut in 2003 where he preached at Church of Christ in Wallingford, CT. Over the course of his life Keith has converted many to Christ. Keith always enjoyed the particular challenges and rewards that came with working with small churches in New England. He worked with small Churches of Christ in Vermont, Maine, and finally Connecticut.

Besides his wife and parents, Keith is survived by two sons David Clayton of Chattanooga, TN and Seth Clayton of Denver, CO, a daughter Myra Clayton of Louisville, KY, two brothers Kenneth Jr. and his wife Donna of Vergennes, VT and Daniel Clayton of Hoosick Falls, NY, a sister Kathryn and her husband Bruce Brockelman of Shirley, MA, three grandchildren Jeremy, Savanah, and Seirra, and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements- Funeral Services for Keith will be held Friday, May 29, 2009 at The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street, Cheshire, CT 06410 at 12 P.M. Calling hours will be held from 11 A.M until the time of the service. Burial will be Saturday May 30, 2009 in Evergreen Cemetery, Cemetery Rd. Arlington, VT at 10 A.M
