NAUGATUCK – Karen R. Nolan, 75, passed away Saturday April 13, 2019 at VITAS Hospice at St. Mary’s Hospital after a long illness.
Ms. Nolan was born August 28, 1943 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Constantine and Rita (Sheehan) Como. She was a longtime Naugatuck resident where she was a communicant of St. Francis Church. Over the years she had worked for Uniroyal in the Footwear Division as well as SP Skinner in Naugatuck. She enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Ireland.
Ms. Nolan is survived by her children Matthew and his wife Candyce, Mark and his wife Annmarie, Ann Marie “Annie” Piacentini and her husband Anthony, Joseph and Sheila; her grandchildren, Luke and Rory Nolan; her siblings Rita Dance and her husband Anthony, Cynthia Muharem and her husband Skender, Edward Como and his wife Anastacia and Kathleen Holland and her husband Glenn. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her children Jennifer and Ryan “RT” Nolan.
Arrangements – A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday April 23, 2019 at 11 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Church St., Naugatuck. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5 to 7 pm at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Memorial contributions may be made to VITAS Innovative Hospice Care, 199 Park Rd.
