CHESHIRE- Karen E. Grime, 55, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Mid-State Medical Center in Meriden after a brief illness.
She was born March 4, 1960 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Wilson R. and Sharon (Eklund) Grime.
Karen graduated from Cheshire High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Connecticut. She was an LPN at Southbury Training School for many years where she was known to be caring to her patients and a true professional. Karen loved scrapbooking, crafts, music, animals, UConn basketball, and traveling to Vermont, Myrtle Beach, and California. She had a quiet sense of humor, liked to bake/cook and loved to participate in donating boxes of toys and trinkets for disadvantaged children through the Samaritan’s Purse organization every Christmas. She had a kind heart and a generous soul and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her sister, Cheryl Grime of Cheshire; and many loving aunts including Hallie Taradine of Huntington, uncles, dear cousins, and many beloved friends.
Arrangements- A Memorial Service for Karen will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the First Congregational Church of Cheshire, 111 Church Drive, 06410. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations in Karen’s name may be made to The American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr. PO Box 5022, Wallingford, CT 06492.
