Juliette Brasher Morris, 92, died after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease on Thursday, January 30, 2014 in Waterbury, CT. She was born on December 9, 1921 in Talladega, AL to Consie Brasher and Jessie Lamar Brasher.
She grew up in Detroit, MI and was a graduate of Wayne State University and the University of Michigan. In 1953, she married William H. Morris and was his partner until his death in 2003. Juliette served as a teacher in Detroit for 39 years, sang with the Rackham Symphony Choir, and was a volunteer at Children's Hospital of Michigan.
She is survived by her only child, Richard.
A Memorial Service for Juliette will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 2PM at the Battell Chapel in Yale University, 400 College Street, New Haven, CT. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation, 3901 Beaubien Street, Detroit, MI 48201. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury has been entrusted with her arrangements.
