Prospect – Mrs. Julie A. (DiLaurenzio) Johnstone, age 79, of Prospect, died Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the loving wife, for 59 years, of Raymond L. Johnstone.
Mrs. Johnstone was born January 31, 1940 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Charles and Carmella (Costrillo) DiLaurenzio. She was a graduate of Naugatuck High School and retired after working for many years in customer service at Peter Paul in Naugatuck and Waltec American Forgings in Waterbury. She loved cooking, photography and traveling, especially to Aruba each year for almost thirty years with her husband. She had a special place in her heart for cats and all animals.
In addition to her husband Ray, Mrs. Johnstone is survived by her children: Kathleen Johnstone of Boston, MA., Sherri Corona and her husband Joe of Naugatuck and Raymond C. Johnstone and his wife Cheryl of Oakville; her brother John DiLaurenzio and his wife Gloria of Florida; four grandchildren: Stephen Corona and his wife Skylar, Evan Corona, Cassandra Johnstone and Ryan Johnstone; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and will also be dearly missed by her little fur baby Betsy. She was predeceased by her brother Charles M. DiLaurenzio.
Mrs. Johnstone’s funeral will start 10:30 A.M, Tuesday, July 16, 2019 from The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St, 06770 and proceed to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck, 06770, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 A.M to 10:30 A.M at the funeral home Tuesday morning.
