Judy Baxter

Judy K. Baxter, 78, of New Britain, beloved wife of the late Wesley Baxter, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024. Judy was born on July 30, 1946, in Painesville, OH, to the late Frank and Mabel Pettit.

Judy loved the simple things in life; quiet dinners out, good conversation, playing games and reading good books with her husband Wes. She also loved going on vacations to warmer climates including the Caribbean and family trips to Florida. Judy used her many talents and abilities well as an accountant and bookkeeper for many years.

She leaves behind her sons, Tony from Plainville, CT and David from Casselberry, FL, her beloved grandson Christian, with whom she enjoyed and cherished relationship, her former daughter in law Elpiniki Podaras-Baxter, many nieces and nephews, as well as her sister Helen of Concord, OH. She was very close to her sister and loved reminiscing about family, friends and life growing up in Ohio. She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years Wesley, her adoring mother Mabel, her caring father Frank, and her wonderful sisters Carol and Myrtle.

Judy fought through health problems later in life, and we would like to thank the many people who did an incredible job of making her comfortable and safe. Many special thanks to the entire team at Arbor Rose/Jerome Home and Hospice, and especially her amazing aide Norma Burnett.

A private Graveside Service will be held at St. Bridget Cemetery, Higgins Road, Cheshire, CT. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
