CHESHIRE - Judith A. Mahan, 76, formerly of Naugatuck, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford.
Judith was born February 23, 1941 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Franklin B. and Rita (Bartholomew) Andrew and had resided in various towns throughout her life including Southbury, Norwich, New London and most recently Cheshire. Judi had an amazing free spirit. She spent time during her youth traveling Europe and devoted her adult life to drug and alcohol counseling. During her children’s lives she was an active Brownie and Girl Scout Leader.
Mrs. Mahan is survived by her daughters Stacey Gardner and her husband Doug of Cape Cod, Nicole Murphy and her husband John of Cheshire, and Shelby Goderre of Cheshire; her son Michael Mahan and his wife Shari of Litchfield; her seven grandchildren; her sister Marjorie A. Pierce; as well as her brothers Russell B. Andrew and Franklin Andrew, Jr.
Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 14, 2017 at 9 a.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Smilow Cancer Hospital, Office of Development, Yale New Haven Hospital, P.O. Box 1849, New Haven, CT 06508-9979, where she received the most wonderful care.
