WATERBURY- Josephine LaRosa, 98, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Abbott Terrace Health Center. She was predeceased by her husband Edward LaRosa in 2003 after 56 years of marriage.
Mrs. LaRosa was born June 2, 1919 in Windsor Locks daughter of the late Thomas and Rose (Rizzi) Fiermonte.
Josephine was a graduate of Leavenworth High School. She was a Quality Control Inspector at the Timex Corporation prior to her retirement, and a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Plymouth.
Mrs. LaRosa is survived by two sons David E. and his wife Patricia of Fairfield, and Mark S. LaRosa of Waterbury; a granddaughter Amy; great granddaughters Stella, and Aria; several nieces and nephews; sisters in laws Dorothy Dauphinais, Jackie LaRosa, and Kay LaRosa; step grandchildren Lynn Semple, Mark Rinaldi, Lori Rinaldi, and their families; and her special friend Don Lynch. She was predeceased by her brothers Daniel, Anthony, Nicholas, and Vito Fiermonte, and sisters Anne and Marian Fiermonte, and Lucy Taylor.
Josephine’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Abbott Terrace Health Center, especially the “Kingsbury Unit” for the care and compassion they showed her during her stay.
Arrangements- Visitation for Mrs. LaRosa will be held from 9:30 A.M, Monday February 19, 2018 until a funeral service begins 11 A.M at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 496 Chase Ave, 06704. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, North St, Watertown, 06795. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Plymouth, 2-4 North St, Plymouth, CT, 06782.
