Cheshire – Joseph P. Kendzierski, 92, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was the husband of Mary Ellen (Ash) Kendzierski. Born on November 27, 1932, in New Haven, he was the son of Adam and Catherine (Zaleski) Kendzierski. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers John, Edward, Stanley, and his sisters Stella, Helen, and Frances.
Joe proudly served in the Navy during the Korean War, as a Radioman, aboard the USS Gilbert Islands, from 1951 to 1953. Upon leaving the service he returned to New Haven and became a Tool and Die Maker working at various companies, spanning over forty years, before retiring in 2003.
Joe was committed to the Roman Catholic church. He was a Communicant of St. Bridget of Sweden Parish and had served as a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Assumption in Woodbridge and St. Thomas Becket church in Cheshire.
Joe was devoted to his family and enjoyed coaching his sons in their youth. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and UCONN Huskies basketball, seldom missing a game. Joe had a deep passion for woodworking. He enjoyed creating Christmas tree ornaments as gifts, which are now treasured by his family and friends.
Besides his beloved wife of 59 years, Joe is survived by his sons, John Kendzierski and his wife Maureen (Devlin), Peter Kendzierski and his wife Karyn (Schultz), as well as his grandchildren; Julia, James and Jessica.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. At 10:30am his funeral procession will leave the funeral home and proceed to Saint Bridget of Sweden Church, 175 Main St, Cheshire, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice.
