Joseph Grochowski

WATERBURY- Joseph Paul Grochowski Jr., 70, passed away Sunday February 24, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife Virginia C. Grochowski.

He was born September 11, 1942 in Yonkers, NY son of the late Joseph Paul Sr. and his wife Helen (Lucas) Grochowski.

Joseph was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was employed as the Superintendent of Building and Grounds at Croton on the Hudson prior to his retirement.

He is survived by two sons Daniel C. and Joseph P. III Grochowski of Waterbury; two daughters Dawn M. Shears and Julia Rios of Waterbury; a brother John Grochowski of Ohio; a sister Mary-Ann and her husband Mario Pedone of Straford; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements- Joseph's funeral will be held 8:45 A.M Saturday March 2, 2013 from The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave, 06710 to St. Michael Church, 62 St Michael's Drive, Waterbury, CT 06704 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 A.M. Burial will follow in the State Veterans Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown, 06457. Calling hours will be held Friday March 1, 2013 from 5 to 8 P.M at the funeral home. Donations in his name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1075 Chase Pkwy, Waterbury, CT 06708.
