CHESHIRE; John Lawrence Turner, 22, of Cheshire, CT passed away on August 7, 2011.

John was born on September 25, 1988 in New Haven, CT. He moved to Cheshire with his family at the age of 2. He attended Cheshire public schools and was a 2006 graduate of Cheshire High School. John enjoyed music and was a member of the marching band and chorus at Cheshire High. He was also very athletic and was a member of both the wrestling and baseball teams in high school. John played baseball from an early age for CYB and the Cheshire Reds. As an adult, John was a member of both the CJ Sparrow's and Cookie Monsters softball teams with the Cheshire Men's Softball League.

John is survived by his father and mother, Jonathan and Karen Turner of Cheshire, CT; sister and brother in-law, Mary and Michael Bathrick, of Cheshire, CT; Aunts and Uncles: Godmother, Patricia Donnelly of Broad Brook, CT; Pamela and Dale Nightingale of Plainville, CT; Frances Kelly of Sebastian, FL; Maryalyce and Robert Lee, of Cheshire, CT; and George and Sharon Kelly of Farmington, CT. Proud to be a member of a large and close-knit family, John is also survived by 30 first cousins, and 40 first cousins once removed. John is predeceased by his grandparents, Lawrence A. Kelly and Marion A. Kelly of Cheshire, CT and John A. Turner and Hazel E. Turner of New Britain, CT; his Godfather and Uncle, Lawrence A. Kelly; Aunt and Uncle, Priscilla and Francis Elliot of Plainville, CT; and Uncle, John Donnelly.

A Mass of Christian Burial for John will be celebrated Monday August 15, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Saint Bridget Church 175 Main Street in Cheshire. Friends are asked to meet directly at Church. Burial will be at the convenience of his family. Family and friends may call at the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire 615 South Main Street on Sunday August 14, from 2 to 5 p.m.
