John Spring

Wolcott ' John A. Spring, 83, formerly of Riverview Cir., passed away Friday February 13, 2009 at Bucks Hill Health and Rehab Center in Waterbury. He was the husband of Ruth (Elliott) Spring.

Mr. Spring was born September 12, 1925 in Waterbury the son of the late Frederick and Florence (Holmes) Spring. He was a plumber for Local #77, retiring in 1988 and was a member of the Gateway Bible Church. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the 69th Infantry Division and had served with the National Guard during the Korean War. Later in life he was a thirty year member of the American Legion Post 165 in Wolcott and the Rietdyke Senior Center.

Besides his wife of 60 years, Mr. Spring is survived by his son Kenneth Spring of Brighton, MI; his two daughters Linda Langlois of Santa Rosa, CA and Sandra Mercier of Terryville; his sister Harriet Forish of Naugatuck; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Arrangements ' Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 18, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gateway Bible Church, 500 Buckingham St., Oakville, CT 06779.
