John Desmond Murray

Cheshire - John Desmond Murray, 65, departed this life on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut New Britain General Campus surrounded by his family.

John was cherished by all who knew him, and above all else, he loved his family. He was the husband of Maureen (Grel) Murray. John was a devoted husband, father, brother, son, and cherished friend. He was gifted with a keen mind, generous spirit, and the gift of “gab”. He leaves a permanent mark on our hearts that will forever be cherished.

Mr. Murray was born January 11, 1959, in New York City, the son of the late John and Mary (Mulroy) Murray. He was a field service engineer in New York City and Connecticut for many years.

Besides his wife of 38 years, John is survived by his sons Thomas of Cheshire, Daniel and Maggie (Tang) of Taipei, Taiwan, and James Murray of Cheshire; his sisters Kathleen and the late Kevin O’Neill of Yorktown Heights, NY and Maureen Delores Murray of Cocoa Beach, FL; his brother-in-law James of FL and Thomas Grehl and his wife Michelle of NJ; many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as his beloved dog Bronson, who he adored.

Arrangements – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements.
