Cheshire - John M. Luchene, Sr. went to meet his savior, Jesus Christ, on June 30, 2016. He was the husband of the late Martha Evelyn “Eve” (Pekrul) Luchene.
Mr. Luchene was born October 16, 1919, in Waterbury, a son of the late Michael and Mary (Sholeshko) Esuchene. A retired machinist from American Chain and Cable Co. in Naugatuck, Mr. Luchene was a resident of Cheshire for the past fifty years. He was a dedicated member of the Cheshire Lutheran Church and served many lay positions in that church and served his country with honor and pride in the US Army.
Mr. Luchene is survived by his son and daughter in law, John & Cheryle Luchene, Jr., of Roswell Georgia and two granddaughters, Mona Luchene of San Diego, CA, and Jennifer Luchene of Roswell Georgia, as well as many nephews and nieces, most notably, Josephine Chasse of Wolcott and Kristen Dilorenzo of Rocky Hill. He was predeceased by his brother Samuel Luchene, and his sister, Mary Evans.
The family would like to thank the residents and staff of the Cheshire Regional Rehab Center, for their compassion and loving service.
Arrangements- Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016, at 11:00 A.M., at Cheshire Lutheran Church, 660 West Main Street, Cheshire, 06410. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 615 South Main St., Cheshire, from 9:00 A.M. until time of departure. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Cheshire Lutheran Church.
