CHESHIRE – John “Jeff” Boland, 69, passed away Wednesday August 5, 2015 at Mid-State Medical Center. He was the husband of Diane (Draper) Boland.
Jeff was born November 18, 1945 in Waterbury the son of the late John F. and Harriet (Hull) Boland. He was a long time Cheshire resident moving to town at the age of 8. He served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the U.S. Navy stationed at the Pentagon working on intelligence.
After many years of education Jeff served the Kingsbury Elementary School, in Waterbury, for 27 years as Principal. Jeff was a member of the Cheshire Fire Department for 52 years, serving as a Deputy Fire Marshal for 20 years and Fire Marshal for the last 16 years. Jeff was known for his love of license plate and model car collecting.
Besides his wife of 45 years, Jeff is survived by his daughter Tara Boland and her husband Dan McClain and their two boys Ian and Kyle; and his trusted companion, a standard poodle named “Blue."
Arrangements - Funeral services will be held Saturday August 8, 2015, 9:15 am from the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. to St. Bridget Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
