John E. Sickola, Jr.

John E. Sickola Jr, age 91, of Beacon Falls died suddenly on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Beacon Brook Health Care Center in Naugatuck. He was the devoted husband of more than 60 years of Shirley W. (Dyson) Sickola. John was born on December 10, 1923 in Naugatuck, son of the late John and Mary (Strizak) Sickola.

Mr. Sickola was a dedicated materials handler for over 40 years at Naugatuck Chemical, retiring in 1989 and was a member of the Congregational Church of Naugatuck, UCC and a devoted fan of the UCONN Huskies Women’s Basketball Team.

He is the beloved father of Cheryl Ann (Sickola) Chesnas of Naugatuck, Shari Lee (Sickola) LeBel and John E. Sickola III, both of Beacon Falls. He was predeceased by his two sisters and his brother.

Funeral Service will be held at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow Street, Naugatuck, CT 06770 on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 7:30PM. Friends may pay their respects to his family at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5PM until the time of service. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family. At the request of his family, memorial contributions may be made to the Congregational Church of Naugatuck, UCC, Division Street, Naugatuck, CT 06770.
