CHESHIRE - John Edward Dickson, 94, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013 at Connecticut Hospice. He was the devoted husband of 67 years of Helen Thummler Dickson, who passed away in January, 2011.
Mr. Dickson was born April 12, 1918 in Stafford Springs. He was the older brother to Wesley and Jean Olson-Dickson. Employed by Scovill Manufacturing for 36 years, he contributed to the WW II effort by designing tools to make aircraft parts critical to the war effort. He was an active Member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah in Wallingford. A musician for more than 80 years, he continued to play the ukulele and to provide musical entertainment to residents. He, and his wife, Helen were loved and respected members of his Church, his community and his family.
He is survived by several nephews, nieces and grand nieces devoted to his memory. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings.
Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013, 11a.m. at the Alderson's Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Friends will be received by the family on Friday morning from 9:30 until the start of the service at 11a.m.
