John Clisham

John "Deacon" Clisham, 77, passed away Friday, April 9, 2010 at The Rocky Hill Veterans Administration. He was the long time loving companion of Joann "Vieira" Pace.

Deacon was born November 1, 1932 in Pittston, PA and was the son of the late Paul A. and Katherine I. (Carey) Clisham.

Deacon attended Naugatuck High School graduating Class of 1951. Following high school he served in the Air Force where he was stationed in Hawaii. He was employed at Western Union as a Manager prior to his retirement.

Deacon was always an extremely loving uncle, and an avid New York Yankee and New York Giants fan.

Deacon is survived by three brothers William E. and his wife Dorie Clisham of Hawaii, Dennis "Ned" and Johanna Clisham of Southington, and Ronald J. and his wife Margie Clisham of Vernon; three sisters Briday E. and her husband Edmund Carser of Waterbury, Mary K. and her husband Emil Martino of Naugatuck, CT, and Mercedes "Cedy" and her husband Lowell "Fred" Fredsall of Wolcott. Deacon was predeceased by five brothers Stephen A. Clisham, Patrick "Buddy" Clisham, Bruce R. Clisham, Paul "Carey" Clisham, and Thomas A. Clisham; and three Sisters Anita M. Morgan, Jacqueline F. Gardner, and Joan A. Guiliano.

Arrangements- Deacon's funeral will be held Wednesday, April 14, 2010 10:15 A.M from The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St, to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St, Naugatuck, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. Burial will full Military Honors will follow in St. James Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home the morning of the funeral from 9 A.M until the precession leaves for church. Donations in Deacon's name may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
