WATERBURY- Joan-Ann (Croke) Zipoli, 78, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the loving wife of Richard P. Zipoli Sr. whom she was married to for 57 years.
She was born September 8, 1938 in Waterbury daughter of the late James T. and Rose (Paradise) Croke.
Joan-Ann was a graduate of St. Mary’s Grammar School, Waterbury Catholic High School, and then attended Bryant College. She was the head bookkeeper at M.A Green Jewelers in Waterbury for a number of years. Joan-Ann was an accomplished artist, and a member of the Watertown Art League. She was awarded 1st and 2nd place in Juried Art Shows. She was an active participant at the Oakville Senior Center. Above all, Joan-Ann loved people, had a warm and friendly disposition, and was blessed with many wonderful friends.
Besides her husband she is survived by her son Dr. Richard P. Zipoli, Jr. and his wife Dr. Elizabeth Canatta, and their daughter Sophie Tara of Burlington; her daughter Diane Joan Zipoli of Medford, MA; her sister in law Linda (Zipoli) Frenette and her husband Gary, and their daughter Julianna; and several nieces. Joan was predeceased by her sons Steven and Albert Zipoli.
Arrangements- A Funeral Mass for Joan-Ann will be held 10 A.M. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 309 South Main St, Waterbury, 06706. Family and friends are asked to meet directly church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family, and there are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave, 06710, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Donations in her name may be made to St. Mary’s Grammar School, 43 Cole St, Waterbury, CT 06706.
