CHESHIRE- Joan (Russell) Pescetelli, age 74, of Cheshire entered into rest on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury. She was the devoted wife of David Pescetelli, Sr. for over 49 years.
Joan was born on August 10, 1941 in New Haven, daughter of the late Vincent and Gertrude (Luft) Russell, and has been a Cheshire resident since 1972, coming from North Haven.
Joan retired from the Town of Cheshire in 2011, where she was a tax clerk; and was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Thomas Becket Church. She was an insatiable QVC shopper, an animal lover and a UConn Women’s Basketball enthusiast. She enjoyed going out to restaurants and savored her Dunkin Donuts coffee. Joan appreciated a good joke and relished a great laugh. She loved the holidays, and being with her friends and family, who were the world to her.
She is the beloved mother of David Pescetelli, Jr. and his wife, Jan of Waterbury and Robert Pescetelli and his wife, Michelle of Meriden. Joan is survived by her cherished grandchildren; Anna-Marie and Elizabeth Pescetelli and Aniela and Olivia Pescetelli; sister of Vincent Russell and his wife, Nancy of Cornelius, NC and Patricia Farrell and her husband, William of Port St. Lucie, FL; several nieces and nephews; and her dear kitties; Maggie and Lucy.
Arrangements- Joan’s funeral will leave the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 So. Main Street, Cheshire, CT 06410, 8:15 A.M, Saturday October 31, 2015 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9 A.M in St. Thomas Becket Church, 435 No. Brooksvale Rd., Cheshire. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Friends may greet her family at the funeral home on Friday, October 30, 2015 from 5 to 8 P.M. At the request of her family, memorial contributions may be made to The Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111.
