Joan M. Jackes, 81, of Londonderry, NH and formerly of Cheshire, CT entered into rest on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, N.H. She was the wife of the late Francis A. Jackes Jr.
Mrs. Jackes was born March 8, 1941, in Newark, N.J., daughter of the late Nicholas and Julia (Wachus) Walchak. She retired from the Cheshire Public School System. After retirement, she truly enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s lacrosse, soccer, and hockey games, as well as numerous theater performances.
Mrs. Jackes leaves behind her son, Frank A. Jackes and his wife, Meredith and her daughter, Lisa Boyon, and her husband, Lou, all of Londonderry, NH. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Sarah & Meghan Jackes and Paige & Matthew Boyon. She is also survived by her sister Alice Di Elmo of Maplewood, NJ and her brother in-law Richard Jackes and his wife Kathy of Blairstown, NJ, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Jackes was predeceased by her brother Nicholas Walchack.
Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 1, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Bridget of Sweden Parish-St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, March 31, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street.
