Joan O'Neill Fisher

Joan O’Neill Fisher, 72, of Beacon Falls, beloved wife of 51 years to Stephen Fisher, passed away on January 25, 2024. Joan was born on May 21, 1951 in Waterbury, CT to the late Francis and Rita O’Neill.

Joan’s life revolved around her family, and she spent her working years as a homemaker raising her children. She loved being a mother and grandmother and treasured those moments when her family gathered around her. She was an avid traveler, knitter, and baker– she never arrived at a family gathering without a home-baked pie. She also loved her community of friends in Beacon Falls and all the money she won from their weekly card game.

In addition to her husband, Joan leaves behind her son, Matt Fisher and his wife Dana; grandchildren, Keaton and Ezra; sister, Nancy Kirby; nieces, Lori Basile and Lisa Crabtree; and several close friends. Joan was predeceased by her daughter, Kaitlynn Fisher; and brother-in-law, David Kirby.

Friends and family may pay their respects on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 201 Meadow St., Naugatuck, CT. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck, CT.
