Mrs. Joan B. (Barrett) Dube, 74, of Cheshire passed away Wednesday March 3, 2010 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was the wife of Richard Dube.
Joan was born April 7, 1935 in Pittston, PA a daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Brann) Barrett and has been a Cheshire resident for the past 52 years. She was raised in Ansonia and was a graduate of Ansonia High School. She continued her studies at Southern Connecticut State University earning her Bachelor's degrees in Elementary and Physical Education. She was a Communicant of Saint Bridget Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister, a CCD teacher and a member of the Ladies Guild. She was also a Bible School Teacher and active in the Girl Scouts.
Besides her husband, she leaves her sons, Richard B. Dube of Meriden, David A. Dube of Yalesville, Christopher P. Dube of Middlefield, Jeffrey M. Dube of West Hartford and her daughters, Cindy Marinaro of Cheshire, Alaine Corbitt of Manchester, Leanne Shaughnessy of West Hartford and Janell Powell of Middlebury, her brother, Paul Barrett of Branford, her sisters, Anne Belske of Seymour and Mary Joy Walsh of Hamden and 14 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Joan will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Bridget Church 175 Main Street, Cheshire. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in Saint Bridget Cemetery.
