Jessie D. Stoyak

Cheshire - Jessie Doris Stoyak, 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at Civita Healthcare in Cheshire. She was the wife of the late Peter Stoyak. 

Mrs. Stoyak was born July 30, 1931, in East Haven, the daughter of the late Ralph and Jessie (Sisson) Hewett. After marrying her husband Peter, she moved to Branford where she was employed by the Branford Visiting Nurses as a CNA. After retiring, she moved with her family to Cheshire where she was an active member of the Cheshire Senior Center, visiting several times a week playing Scrabble and cards. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Stoyak is survived by her daughter Ida Lee Howe of Vermont; Priscilla (Stoyak) Pechmann and her husband Jeff of Cheshire; her son Kevin Stoyak and his wife Linnea of Cumming, Georgia; her grandchildren Kenneth Clark, Dennis and Carolynn Pechmann, and Stephanie Martinez-Partida and her husband Edward; as well as her great-grandchildren Phoebe Clark and András and Wyatt Martinez-Partida. Besides her husband and her parents, she is predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law Stanley and Beverly Hewett, her grandson Douglas Clark, Jr., and beloved cousin Madelyn Kmetzo.

Arrangements – Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 5 to 7 pm at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. On Thursday, a funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10 am. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Branford Center Cemetery.
