WATERBURY- Jessie Nelson, 97 passed away, Monday August 5, 2013 at Meridian Manor in Waterbury. She was predeceased her husband Gilbert Nelson.
She was born August 6, 1915 in Kingston, RI daughter of the late Howell and Clara (Sherman) Babcock.
Jessie was a Machinist at W.D Stanley in Waterbury prior to her retirement, and a member of Mill Plain Union Church.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thanks to Jessie's granddaughter Barbara, and the staff of Meridian Manor for the care and compassion they showed Jessie during her time there.
She is survived by a son Edward G. and his wife Maggie Nelson of Cedar City, UT; a daughter Louise and her husband John Sexton of Waterbury; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. Jessie was predeceased by her two daughters Edith Tyler and Irene Zanavich, and a grandson Troy Tyler.
Arrangements- Calling hours for Jessie will be held Thursday August 8, 2013 at The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave, 06710 from 4 to 6 P.M. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Donations in her name may be made to the Salvation Army, 74 Central Ave Waterbury, CT 06702, or to the Mill Plain Union Church Endowment Fund, 242 Southmayd Rd, Waterbury, CT 06705.
