NAUGATUCK- Mr. Jeffrey "Jeff" Mitchell Saguta, 54, of Naugatuck, passed away Tuesday Mar. 4, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the Life-Companion of John "Jack" T. Notar.

Jeff was born in Manhattan, NY, April 28, 1959, a son of Waldemar Saguta and the late Fannie (Singer) Saguta and was educated in the Bronx school system, moving to Waterbury in 1969, where he continued his education. He was a graduate of Wilby High School and Western Conn. State University with a degree in communications. He had been a Naugatuck resident for the past 29 years and was employed by the ION Bank, (formerly Naugatuck Savings Bank) for over 14 years.

Jeff underwent a successful Pancreas and Kidney transplant in June of 2013 and was able to resume his work schedule and hobbies. He had been active with the Jewish Federation of Western Conn. and enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle. He was a member of the Polish American Club of Naugatuck and the Harley-Davidson Club.

Besides his Father of Cheshire and Jack, his Life-Companion of 25 years, he leaves one brother William Saguta and his wife Meredith of Cheshire, a nephew, Stephen Emanuel Saguta and his wife Kelly of Milford and his dogs, Samantha and George W.

His funeral service will be held on Sunday Mar. 9, 2014 at 3 p.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St., with Rabbi Dana Bogatz, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 2969 Whitney Ave., Hamden, CT 06518. A Shiva Minyan will be held at a later date to be announced.
