Jeffrey Payne

CHESHIRE - Jeffrey Edwin Payne, 61, passed away on Tuesday July 19, 2011 at Yale New Haven Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Marisue (Heffernan) Payne.

Jeff was born on May 27, 1950, in Waterbury, son of Edwin Payne of Cheshire and the late Agnes Payne of Cheshire. Jeff was a lifelong resident of Cheshire where he graduated from Cheshire High School, class of 1968 and Central Connecticut State University, 1972. Jeff had been a sales representative in the beverage industry until he became ill in 2005.

Besides his wife of 33 years and his father, Jeff is survived by his son, Jeffrey Payne and daughter, Ashley Payne; his two brothers John Payne and his wife Tammy of Cheshire, Terrance Payne and his wife Sandra of Cheshire; his sister Ellen Payne Barrett and her husband Arthur of Manahawkin, NJ; as well as 13 nieces and nephews.

The family would also like to thank the wonderful and caring staff at Smilow Cancer Hospital. He will be greatly missed by many including his beloved dog Bailey.

Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 23, 2011 9:15 a.m. from the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. to St. Bridget Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
