CHESHIRE- Jeanette Ann (Brodeur) Brewerton, 90, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at her residence. She was predeceased by her husband Alden Walker Brewerton in 1988.
Jeanette was born October 3, 1926 in Meriden daughter of the late Rudolph and Cecile (Rouleau) Brodeur. She was a lifelong resident of Cheshire and a communicant of The Church of the Epiphany since its inception prior to St. Bridget Church.
Jan, an amazing mom, strong yet humble and kind, was always ready to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. Her love and guidance allowed us the freedom to explore our world and grow into our own persons.
She was a lover of nature, whether it was on a hike, working in the garden, or sailing with her husband Shorty. She was a natural teacher and loved to pass life lessons onto children, often through games, nurturing their spirit as well as their mind. She was an artist, a painter and a potter. Her pottery was a treasured gift received, and shared by many.
She was a member of the Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven, and was involved in girl scouts as a leader for many years. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Waterbury Hospital prior to her retirement.
She is survived by her children Margaret and her husband William Cyphers of Cheshire, Daniel and his wife Shirley Brewerton of Rock Hill, SC, Scott Brewerton of Harwington, Jean and her husband David Brennan of Mason, NH, Constance and her husband Gary Everett of Old Lyme, Rebecca and her husband Joseph Bottari of Torrington, June and her husband Glen Reinhard of Cheshire, and John and his wife Laura Brewerton of Cheshire; as one of twelve children she is survived by one brother and six sisters; eighteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Arrangements- Calling hours for Mrs. Brewerton will be held 5 to 7 P.M, Sunday December 4, 2016 at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street, 06410. Jeanette’s funeral will start 10 A.M, Monday December 5, 2016 from the funeral home and proceed to The Church of the Epiphany, 1750 Huckins Road, Cheshire, 06410, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Wallingford Road, Cheshire, 06410. Donations in her name may be made to The American Cancer society or The Alzheimer's Resource Center .
