Janet C. Griggs

Waterbury - Janet C. Griggs of Waterbury died peacefully Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Beacon Brook Health Center of Naugatuck. Miss Griggs was born February 18, 1935, in Waterbury, daughter of the late Joseph D. and Aldona (Rice) Griggs. She was a graduate of Shepardson School, Middlebury, Wilby High School, Waterbury and served on active duty in the United States Marine Corps. She was employed by the Waterbury Republican and American for many years and was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church.

She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Margaret Geary and a brother Joseph D. Griggs both of Waterbury, three nieces Christine Griggs and Michele Griggs, both of Wolcott, Lynn Salvatore and a great nephew Christopher Salvatore both of Thomaston and several cousins.

Arrangements – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday October 5, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, 625 Baldwin St. Waterbury. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Xavier Church, 625 Baldwin St., Waterbury 06706-1501. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck is assisting with arrangements.
