Jane Salerno

Waterbury; Jane E. Salerno A special wife and mother, 63 of Terrell Rd died on Monday December 8, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was the wife of Robert J. Salerno Sr.

Jane was born on November 11, 1945 and was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Winifred Ackerman Sr. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and was a life long resident of Waterbury. Jane enjoyed working with the children in the lunch program for the Waterbury school systems until her retirement. She loved fine dining, the theater and vacationing with her family. She was also a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. Her family and friends will always remember her unique conversational skills. She supported the Special Olympics and enthusiastically attended every event her daughter Kathleen participated in.

Besides her husband, she is survived by one son Robert J. Salerno Jr. of Waterbury, and one brother William Ackerman of Shelton. Jane is predeceased by her daughter Kathleen M. Salerno and a brother Kenneth Ackerman.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a mass of Christian burial at Blessed Sacrament Church on Thursday afternoon at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. There will be no calling hours. The Mulville Funeral Home 270 West Main Street, Waterbury is in charge of arrangements.
