Jane L. Brooks

CHESHIRE - Jane Louise Brooks, 62, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, CT.

Jane was born May 22, 1962, in Phoenix, AZ, daughter of the late Merle Richard Brooks of Knoxville, IA and Ina Clair Adair of Pinetop, AZ.

Jane leaves behind her daughters, Brooke Ramthun (John Ramthun) of Cheshire, CT, Samantha Thompson (Frank Conway) of Los Angeles, CA, Kathleen Pullins (Jesse Jerome) of Mahnomen, MN, and her son, Shane Thompson (Brandon Hazlett) of Brooklyn, NY. She will be missed by her grandchildren Samuel (12), Luke (11), and Jane (9) Ramthun of Cheshire, CT as well as her sister, Michelle Buckhannon of Peoria, AZ, and brother Michael Brooks (Maria Brooks) of Folsom, CA. Jane also leaves behind Kara Rakoczynski, Brandy Thompson and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her brother, Merle Richard (Rick) Brooks, Jr.

Jane loved her grandchildren deeply, who were the light of her life. She was endlessly amused by their humor, enthusiasm, and unconditional love.

Inspired by her mother, Jane was a gifted poet, song writer and an avid country music fan.

Jane spent most of her professional life in the beauty industry, beginning her career as a nail technician. She later became a salon manager and owner, ultimately advancing to manage one of the largest beauty supply stores and salons in the country.

Arrangements: – A memorial service for Jane will be held in early 2025 in Phoenix, AZ. There are no calling hours and the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements.
