The Villages, FL ' James M. La Sala, 81, of The Villages, FL, passed away on Thursday January 28, 2010. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 46 years, Margaret.
Mr. La Sala was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran; the Senior Warden of St. Alban's Anglican Church in Lady Lake, FL; Senior Warden at the Church of The Advent in Greenwich and was National President of ARMA (American Records Management Association). He taught at the Lifelong Learning College and was the founder of the Shakespeare Club of The Villages. Mr. La Sala received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hofstra College, NY and a Masters of Arts in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. La Sala was an avid tennis player and longtime member of the Copper Valley Tennis Club in Cheshire CT. He loved gardening, enjoyed the arts, theater, acting and directed several plays. He was an extensive traveler and spoke fluent Italian and Sicilian.
Mr. La Sala is survived by his daughter Christina La Sala of San Francisco, CA; his stepdaughter Victoria Evalds of Ardmore, PA; his stepsons Harry Keiner of Asheville, NC and Paul Keiner of New Boston, NH, seven step grandchildren and two grand nephews.
Arrangements ' Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 6, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery.
