WATERBURY- Jacqulyn (Jacki) Marshak, daughter of Louis and Sylvia (Gaier) Marshak, was born on August 3, 1943 and passed away on January 9, 2021 after a battle with COVID-19.
She leaves behind her sister Evelyn, grandchildren Ariella, Avi, Dovid, Yosef, Betzalel, and Yacov Shmuel (Strudel) and great-grandson Mikey, extended family in Israel, and many friends and students.
Jacki went to work early in the family business. She always wanted to be a teacher.
She graduated from UConn and Southern and started teaching in 1965. She taught for 38 years in Region 16. She then subbed and tutored, most recently in Oxford. She had finished her 56th year of teaching. She was devoted to her students.
Jacki was a longtime volunteer at the St. Mary's Hospital gift shop, she knitted thousands of hats for newborns at the hospitals, and will be remembered for her many acts of kindness big and small. Jacki was a true giver who had so much love for everyone who had the privilege to know her. She will be missed by many.
A private graveside service for Ms. Marshak was held on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Hebrew Benefit Cemetery. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 496 Chase Ave, 06704 assisted the family with the arrangements.
