Enfield - Jack I. Osias, 97, passed away January 1, 2011.
Mr. Osias was born on September 28, 1913 in Brooklyn, New York. He grew up in the city, graduated from City College of New York and lived and worked there until 1955, when he and his family moved to Cheshire, CT. He was purchasing manager for Unimax Switch in Wallingford until 1964. Between 1964 and 1979 he was a management consultant for a variety of firms throughout New England.
He was an active participant in the Democratic Town Committee and the Cheshire Kiwanis Club. He and Phyllis were founding members of Temple Beth David. Together they chaired the Cheshire Food Drive for many years and published the Cheshire Community Guide.
Mr. Osias was devoted to his wife of 67 years, Phyllis. He was a loving father to his children and rejoiced in time spent with his grandsons. He loved working on his home, and it was an ongoing project from 1955 to 2009.
Mr. Osias is survived by his daughter, Alison Clark and her husband, Donald of Enfield; his grandsons Jeremy of Bello Horizonte, Brazil and Leland of New Britain. He was predeceased by his son Jonathan Robert Osias.
