CHESHIRE - Isabella Susanne Gozzo, 19, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Hartford Hospital, Hartford. She was the daughter of Mike and Yeisid (Figueredo) Gozzo.
"Izzy" as she was known by her friends or "Bella" as she was affectionately called by her family, was born October 24, 1995 in Swansboro, NC. She was a longtime Cheshire resident where she attended local schools and graduated from Cheshire High School, Class of 2014. While at Cheshire High School she was a member of the Lacrosse, Field Hockey and Powder Puff Girls' Football Teams. Bella was a passionate sports fan but her greatest love was football. Her favorite place on earth besides her home was Gillette Stadium where she glowed with excitement cheering on the Patriots with her family. She was enrolled as a freshman at Suffolk University where she was majoring in Communications and Sports Broadcasting.
Besides her parents, Bella is survived by her brothers Michael and Anthony Gozzo of Cheshire; her Maternal Grandparents Omelio and Maria Figueredo; her Uncle and Aunt, Garret and Susanne Figueredo Cook. She was predeceased by her paternal Grandmother, Violet Gozzo.
Arrangements – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday December 19, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. The family encourages all to celebrate Bella's life and traditional funeral attire is not necessary. Instead, we ask for light colors, no jackets and ties or to wear sports related memorabilia to celebrate her life. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Tom Brady's Best Buddies, an organization creating opportunities and friendships for people with disabilities; 28 Washington Ave., Second Floor, North Haven, CT 06473. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements.
