WATERBURY- Mr. Irwin R. Josephthal, 86, of Waterbury, died Thursday morning July 9, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of the late Muriel (Pecker) Josephthal who died in 1991 after 40 years of marriage. Mr. Josephthal was born in Waterbury, Sept. 17, 1922 a son of the late Emmanuel and Sadye (Pasternak) Josephthal and had been a Florida resident since 1997, returning to Waterbury in May of 2008. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II. He was a former member of Beth El Synagogue and a member of Beth Tefflin Synagogue in New Port Richey, Fl. He was a member of Wolcott Post 1979 V.F.W. and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in New Poet Richey, Fl. He along with his wife were the owners of Mickey's Dept. Store in Waterville for over 20 years and had also worked for Bussman Mfg. Co. for over 10 years.He leaves one son, Steven H. Josephthal and wife Lisa of Mooresville, NC; one daughter, Marcia Narciso and her husband Joseph of Prospect; two sisters, Elaine Blumenthal of East Meadow, L.I., N.Y., and Joyce Mark of Dallas Tex.; 3 grandchildren, Jillian Narciso, Isaac Josephthal, and Jawon Josephthal. He also leaves a longtime friend, Jeanne Lemon of Holiday, Fl.A graveside service will be held on Friday July 10, 2009 at 2 p.m. in Waterbury Hebrew Benefit Cemetery, Stillson Rd. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
