Irving Gass

WATERBURY- Mr. Irving J. "Yogi" Gass, Jr., 74, of Waterbury, passed away Sunday August 26, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara J. (Bassett) Gass.

"Yogi" was born in Waterbury, Mar. 14, 1938, a son of the late Irving J. Gass, Sr. and the late Rose (Vignalli) Gass and had been a lifelong resident of the city. He was educated in the local school system and a graduate of Leavenworth High School. He was a retired employee of Perfection Screw Products. He was an active member of the Hill St. Social Club.

Besides his wife of 56 years, he leaves 5 sons, Michael of Waterbury, Steven of Plymouth, and Christopher, Anthony and Jerome all of Waterbury; 3 daughters, Donna Yorker and Paula Gass both of Elmira, N.Y and Jennifer Williamson of Norfolk, VA.; one brother Ronald Gass of Waterbury and 3 sisters, Sophie Squillance and Henrietta Morrissey both of Waterbury and Maria Desaulniers of Wolcott; 9 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-

Great-Grandchilden, and several nieces and nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday Aug. 30, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. Burial will be in Bucks Hill Cemetery, Waterbury at the convenience of the family.
