Iris Irizarry

Iris Irizarry, 64, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, July 3, 2020. She was the wife of Damian Irizarry Sr.

Iris was born October 11, 1955, in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Angel Manuel and Eloisa (Lugo-Colon) Carretero. She was a longtime Waterbury resident where she was a member of Iglesia DeDios Nuevo Renacer Church.

Besides her husband of many years, Iris is survived by her brothers Jose Roman, Eloiso Roman, Noel Carretero; her sisters Gladys Roman-Gonzalez, Lydia Carretero and Paquita Gomez; her step-children Melissa Irizarry-Lopez and Damian Irizarry Jr.; as well as many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and godchildren. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her siblings Adan Roman and Manuel Carretero.

Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 11am at Iglesia DeDios Nuevo Renacer Church, 220 Cherry St., Waterbury. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery and there are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Iglesia DeDios Nuevo Renacer Church.
