NAUGATUCK- Mrs. Hulda (Reichenbach) Risdon, 97, of Naugatuck, passed away early Monday morning May 14, 2012 at her home. She was the wife of the late Kenneth G. Risdon, who passed away in 1981 after 33 years of marriage.
Mrs. Risdon was born in Waterbury, July 13, 1914, a daughter of the late Edelbert and Henrietta (Goetz) Reichenbach and was a Naugatuck resident for the remainder of her life. She was a former office employee of both the Waterbury Clock Shop and French's. She was a member of the Prospect Congregational Church and a former longtime member of the Congregational Church of Naugatuck where she had volunteered at the Clothier, a clothing thrift store. She was also a member of the Glendale Community Club and the SIGMA Girls of Waterbury. She enjoyed knitting and had volunteered to knit caps for Maritime Ministries for Seamen and Sojourners.
She leaves one son, William H. Risdon and his wife, Vickie of Prospect; two daughters, Alison Tracz and her husband, Ken of Cheshire, and Margaret Biercevicz and her husband, Walt of Prospect; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her granddaughter, Beth Anne Biercevicz.
A memorial service for friends and family will be held at the Prospect Congregational Church on Saturday June 30th at 11 a.m.. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Riverside Cemetery, Waterbury. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is in charge of arrangements.
