MIDDLEBURY - Howard Burke Watts, 79, passed away July 1, 2011 at Masonicare in Newtown. He was the husband of the late Norma (Friden) Watts.
Howie was born July 25, 1931 in Waterbury the son of the late Howard L. and Helen (Jessiman) Watts. He was a lifelong resident of Middlebury where he attended local schools before receiving a degree from Bryant University. He was President of Watts Electric, Inc. He was a member of the Middlebury Congregational Church, and was also active in many Masonic organizations. He enjoyed spending time in the Green Mountains of Vermont, was an avid sailor, angler and outdoorsman.
Mr. Watts is survived by his daughters Sam Watts and Meg Eggert and her husband Glen all of Middlebury; four grandchildren Lindsey Kopp, Alexander Rosengren, and Anna and Chloe Eggert; as well as a great granddaughter Lyla Kopp.
Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 6, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Middlebury Congregational Church, 1242 Whittemore Rd., Middlebury. Burial will follow in Middlebury Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. Memorial contributions may be made to Rock Fish Meadows Christian Camp and Conference Center, PO Box 100, Rose Hill, NC 28458.
