Eileen Howard

Stratford, CT Eileen Elsie Howard, 95, formerly of Stratford, died peacefully on July 3, 2018 at Masonicare in Wallingford, CT.

Eileen was born on December 3, 1922 in Lowell, MA the daughter of the late John and Florence (Rousseau) Hayden, she lived in Stratford where she raised her 5 children and then retired to Naugatuck where she was a former member of the Kollege Kapers Choral Group and the Prospect Seniors. She was a loyal Red Sox fan and for most of her life she enjoyed playing the piano. Eileen was also a former communicant of St. Vincent Ferrer Church in Naugatuck.

Eileen is survived by her sons, Robert L. Howard (Brenda), Michael J. Howard (Joanne) and Richard C. Howard (Patricia); her daughter, Nancy E. Senk (Gene) and her daughter in law, Joan Howard. Eileen was blessed with 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. In addition to her parents, Eileen was predeceased by her son, James L. Howard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 10:00am at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck. Everyone attending is asked to please meet at church. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford, CT. Calling hours are Monday, July 16, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers and to acknowledge the staff for the excellent care they provided to Eileen, memorial contributions can be made to the Masonic Healthcare Ramage 3 Recreation Dept.
