Herbert "Herbie" Wright

Herbert “Herbie” Wright, age 79, of Naugatuck passed away unexpectedly on Fri., Aug. 11, 2023 at his home.  He was the devoted husband of Ina (Alderman) Wright for over 58 years. Herbert was born on June 8, 1944 in Portland, ME, son of the late Vernon and Frances (Viollett) Wright.

Herbie worked for Carl Geary & Son from his teens until his retirement.  Throughout the years, he enjoyed trips to the casinos with his family and bowling at Perillo’s.  A true coffee lover, local shops and Dunkin Donuts became landmarks while getting around not so familiar places. Most recently, Herbie became a proud great-grandfather and took great pleasure taking strolls with his granddaughter, Brianna and great-granddaughter, Narah.

In addition to his wife, Ina of Naugatuck, Herbie is survived by his daughter, Bethann Semon, his grandchildren, Jacob Davis and Brianna Semon and his cherished great-granddaughter, Narah, all of Naugatuck.  He is also survived by his brother, Vernon “Sonny” Wright and his wife, Joanie of Watertown; his nieces, Missy and Sharon and her husband, Mark; and several other loving nieces and nephews and many treasured friends and extended family.

Friends may greet Herbie’s family at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow Street, Naugatuck, CT 06770 on Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 10AM until 12PM.  His funeral service will be held at 12PM at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck.  Memorial contributions may be mad to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org or to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.  To leave online condolences for his family, or to share a story of Herbie, please visit www.fordfh.com
